Madison's APIP staff works to help all students succeed in these rigorous, college preparatory courses by providing extra support to students beyond the classroom, coordinating teacher professional development and supporting parents. Parents/Guardians: Below are upcoming workshops where parents and guardians can learn more about Madison's Advanced Placement program. Wednesday, January 27, 6-7:45 p.m., Performing Arts Center, Madison High School For Parents of Incoming 9th Grade Students in Fall 2010 Description: Picture Yourself at Madison, Parent Edition. Parents will learn about Madison's advanced placement offerings and sequence of courses, university "a-g" entrance requirements students must complete to graduate, and the assistance Madison staff provides along the way to help students and parents. Wednesday, February 17, 6-7:45 p.m., Performing Arts Center, Madison High School For Parents of Current 9th, 10th and 11th Grade Students (Fall 2010) Description: College Bound and College Ready - A Road Map for Parents. Parents will learn how Madison's College Bound and College Ready Initiative will prepare their student for enrollment in a 4-year university, the required courses their student must take, their role in helping and motivating their student, and the support that teachers and staff will provide along the way. |
