Mission bay hs AP/IB grant program

At Mission Bay High School we have both AP and IB courses. The focus of both programs is to create an environment for teaching and learning resulting in student success. The faculty will take any and all students and will provide them with the understanding and skills necessary to succeed. AP Spanish is a foundational course because students with no prior AP class experience are able to build their capacity to do the work. AP Calculus is another foundational course which develops students ability to succeed. Both faculty and students develop a strong bond and respect for both the discipline and the challenge of meeting the demands of college-level courses. The IB program here at MBHS has two components. The first is the Diploma which is a series of courses and exams that cover all aspects of intellectual inquiry. It is a international curriculum with international standards. The second part of the program provides students with the ability to take specific courses and receive a certificate. Here at MBHS the IB program builds on both a community of learners and a faculty who understands the need to have students go beyond "the basic" curriculum and explore the true meaning of an education. |
