AP Incentive Grant Awarded

San Diego Unified School District Awarded a $3 Million AP Grant

San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD), one of this year’s AP Incentive Grant Program recipients, was awarded the second highest award in the nation to conduct the “AP Alliance Project.”  The grant is comprised of six high schools and eight feeder middle schools, who will partner with universities, colleges, community agencies and businesses to ensure that our low-income and under represented students have access to high quality AP courses and support systems that promote their educational success.

SDUSD’s AP Alliance will provide comprehensive support services to select high schools and their feeder middle schools, which qualify with a minimum of 40% free and reduced lunch eligible students.  Identified schools will receive the following, 1) Professional development and certification in AP, cultural proficiency training, CollegeBoard Principal Leadership training, and ongoing teacher support, 2) Year-round student supplemental educational opportunities, and 3) Comprehensive parent outreach an education.
